After living in Melbourne for the best part of 35 years, and developing a lifetime of automotive experience in the process, Shane and Robyn decided to return back home to the Bay of Islands and as a result R&S Auto Service Centre was created.
It wasn’t long before tragedy struck however when in September 2018, just two weeks after opening, a fire destroyed the garage while Shane and Robyn were away in Taranaki at a wedding.
While tragic, Shane and Robyn were still determined to realise their dream, and work began to reconstruct the new garage which still stands today, and experienced a grand re-opening in October 2019!

Shane Shaw
Shane here is essentially the backbone of the R&S Auto Service Centre team, having first founded the business here in the Bay of Islands now over 3 years ago. Shane brings with him a wealth of experience from working in the industry for over 30 years in Australia, but has now returned home to New Zealand to help out all his incredible locals back home.
During his many years of service Shane held the position of director of racing in the V8 Supercars in the late 90’s together with his long time friend and owner of the Ultra Group Sean Buckley. Shane’s face was a regular on national television in Australia representing the group in TV ads fighting for the new car servicing market!
Robyn Davidson
Beside every good man there’s very likely to be an equally good partner!
And in Shane’s case there sure is! Robyn has worked in the Automotive trade beside Shane for 25 years+ supporting Shane either on the front line on the phone’s, helping with the meet and greet and you might even spot her in the engine room helping out sorting all the administration.
Not only this Robyn also works as an aged care giver in the Bay of Islands, locally in Kaikohe where she assists with the looking after our treasured elderly.
Shane admits she is one in a million and she’s a treasure to the R&S brand!
